Lift Brigade is honored to play a small role in being there for families in our community of Cedar Park/Leander/Austin and across Central Texas. Whether it is a shoulder to lean on, an impromptu pizza party and game night, or a night out at a Cedar Park High School football game, Lift Brigade tries to help reduce stressors of the moment for the patient and family.

From cancer mom, Jennifer:

We have only known Lance and his family for a short time, but they have already become dear friends. Lance is a fellow fighter and used his Make-A-Wish to start The Lift Brigade, a charity dedicated to helping pediatric cancer patients and their families. When you have a moment, please take some time to check out The Lift Brigade’s page and look at all the amazing things this young man and his family have done for others.

We honestly get as much out of these activities as the families do.

  Sibling Support

From our very own experience we know that a serious diagnosis puts a strain on everyone in the family including siblings. We make every effort to ensure the siblings are included in our efforts and receive direct acknowledgement of what they are going through.

From cancer.org:

Siblings of children with cancer feel a lot of stress. Family routines change, and they may feel experience anger, sadness, anxiety, and guilt. They may worry about what is happening to their brother or sister, feel afraid they did something to cause their sibling’s cancer, or feel as if they are getting less attention from their parents. They can also find it hard to manage school responsibilities and social relationships when everything at home is changing.

Know a local family in need of a little support? Let us know. We’ll do our best to see what can do…
